MASAE Mid-Year Session – Web 3.0, June 5, 2013

MASAE Members are always on the cutting edge…and they want to stay that way! That’s why the 2013 MASAE Mid-Year Meeting has a “technology” theme – to keep members apprised of the new, the bold, and the challenging tools out there!

Join us for our third meeting in mid-year and spend this one day “immersing yourself in changing technology.” This intensive one day event includes two keynote presentations plus two workshop tracks especially for association and meeting planner professionals and is designed to give you content at an affordable price and in efficient time to meet your work needs plus the opportunity to meet with key industry service suppliers who can help you solve not only your technology needs but many others. ASAE Chief Technology Officer, Reggie Henry, will present the top technology trends for associations this year.

NEW THIS YEAR – Stick around for an “after hours” networking cocktail reception and meet with your peers…the networking adds to your knowledge and fun! Your first drink is included in the conference registration fee.

MASAE 3rd Annual Conference & Exhibition Was a Great Success

The 3rd Annual MASAE Conference & Exhibition was a great success with over 170 association and exhibitor attendees participating in the two day conference.

“Remaining Relevant in a Changing World” was the theme of this year’s conference and keynote speaker Sarah Sladek was right on target, challenging attendees to change the way they view association membership models. The End of Membership as We Know It, said Sladek, is caused by generational shifts in the workforce, severe social changes brought on by fast-paced technology tools, and access to information that puts pressure on associations to better manage their knowledge content.  The age of associations where loyalty and collegiality brought people together has moved to a new era of competitive groups looking to be the information kings.

3rd Annual MASAE Golf Outing Great Success

Sea Oaks Golf Club, Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ

The 3rd Annual MASAE Golf Outing was another great success with 72 golfers from member

organizations and industry partners enjoying a cool day.


“We didn’t have the scorching heat like last year, said Golf Committee Chair, Robert Kelly (Trump

Entertainment), and team scores showed the cooler weather.” Robert should know! His team of

Paul Rumbos, Scott McKay, and he brought home the winning score of -12 and the prizes for

Low Gross golfers.

Barry Egbert (Trump Entertainment) was another big winner taking home the prizes and trophies

for Closest to the Pin-Men and Longest Drive-Men. Shar Mueller (ACCVA) won the Longest

Drive-Women trophy, and Lisa Ginther (MBI – Gluckshaw) won the Women’s Closest to the Pin award.

There were some special and fun prizes awarded at the outing dinner. Dan Lemyre

(Association Headquarters) won the Par 3 Poker Contest, Lance Humphries won the

Beat the Pro contest, & John Sarkos (SMC) was the best putter with a hole out in the

Putting Skills Competition.
